Mission
WHERE IT BEGAN.
Animal species of all types are currently facing greater threats to survival than at any other time, placing whole species in peril. This time of great adversity is accompanied by an equally great responsibility for zoos and conservation breeding centers to lead the effort to conserve these species.
And we wanted to help as much as possible. West Texas Wildlife Preserve serves as a conservation center that contributes to research, conservation, and education, and provides our community with the opportunity to develop personal connections with wildlife.

These conservation efforts help with the establishment or maintenance of sustainable wildlife populations in their natural habitat as an ultimate goal, whenever possible. Our involvement with breeding programs for all eligible species within our collection is an important way that WTWP helps ensure that this goal can occur when possible.
